Mark Zuckerberg Returns to
Nigeria to Meet with President
Muhammadu Buhari
The founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg has returned
to Nigeria to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari.
While details of the meeting with the president are not yet
known, in one of the photos shared, Zuckerberg was seen
showing the President a drone named – Aquila – a solar-
powered aircraft that will beam internet connectivity to
places that don’t have it.
Zuckerberg also met with the finalists of the first Aso Villa
Demo Day (AVDD) 2016, speaking to the start ups
about their ideas.
“I am excited to be here. To the participants, I am blown
away by what you are doing, I believe in you, Congrats to
you all,” Zuckerberg said.

The founder of Facebook was earlier in a closed door meeting with President Muhammmadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo
His first visit to Nigeria began on Tuesday, August 30, with a visit the Co-creation Hub in Lagos and Angela a tech incubation company and continued on Wednesday, August 31, at the Town hall meeting where Mark shared his journey as an entrepreneur to developers and entrepreneur
The 30 startups that were selected to pitch at Aso Villa Demo Day will have the opportunity to meet with Zuckerberg at the event.
The vice president during the meeting with Zuckerberg in Aso Rock said this country’s going to be built on the energy and innovation of young people.
Zuckerberg in his reponse to Osinbaj’s question on why he wasn’t wearing his t-shirt, he said it’s out of respect for the president, he wore a suit.
