– President Muhammadu Buhari has sent the 2016
budget proposal of government agencies to the
Senate for consideration
– The request is in accordance with the Fiscal
Responsibility Act 2007
– Other agencies listed include, Central Bank of
Nigeria, Radio Nigeria, Nigerian Television
Authority, Nigerian Ports Authority, Federal Airport
Authority of Nigeria, and Securities and Exchange
Commission
President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, July 19,
requested the Senate consideration and passage of
the 2016 budgets for the NigerianNational Petroleum
Corporation (NNPC) and 30 ther agencies to the
Senate for consideration.
The request which was contained in a letter was read
by the Senate president, Dr Bukola Saraki at plenary
session of the Upper chamber, in accordance with
the Fiscal Responsibility Act 2007, The Punch reports.

The agencies inlude the Bureau of Public Enterprises,
National Agencies for Science and Engineering
Infrastructure, Nigerian Airspace Management
Agency, Nigerian Shippers Council, and the National
Maritime Authority.
Also included in the list were Raw Materials Research
and Development Council, National Sugar
Development Council, Nigerian Postal Service,
Nigerian Ports Authority, Federal Airport Authority of
Nigeria, and Securities and Exchange Commission.
